Top dressing helps improve soil conditions & level low spots. Top dressing should be done in spring for warm season turfs and early fall for fescue turfs. Top dressing includes core aeration on the lawn. After core aeration is complete we apply a starter fertilizer to help roots recover. Next we apply a thin layer of top dressing material which is a 50/50 mixture of sand and humus (organic material). We complete top dressing by smoothing out the material.
